Mathematics of Operations Research ( MOR ) is an economics and mathematics journal that focuses on the mathematical treatment of Operations Research . Mathematics of Operations Research is published by the Institute for Operations Research Management and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) with a frequency of four issues per year.

history

Mathematics of Operations Research was first published in February 1976 and was originally published at four editions per year, which it still does today. The editors of MOR included Arthur F. Veinott (1977–1980), Stephen M. Robinson (1981–1986), Erhan Cinlar (1987–1992), Jan Karel Lenstra (1993–1998), Gerard Cornuéjols (1999–2003) , Nimrod Megiddo (2004–2009), Uri Rothblum (2009–2012) and JG Dai (since 2012).

Content

Mathematics of Operations Research intends to publish significant research papers with material mathematical content relevant to Operations Research . The journal contains articles that deal with the mathematical and computational fundamentals in the areas of continuous, discrete and stochastic optimization, mathematical programming, dynamic programming , stochastic processes , stochastic models, simulation methodology, control and adaptation , networks , game theory and decision theory.

The editing of Mathematics of Operations Research is headed by editor-in-chief JG "Jim" Dai ( Cornell University ) and the respective specialist editors Yinyu Ye (continuous optimization), Imre Bárány (discrete optimization), Adam Shwartz (stochastic models) and Nicolas Vieille (game theory) supported by 48 associate editors .

In the economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute at the University of Amsterdam , Mathematics of Operations Research is listed in category A (“very good general economics journals and top journals in the respective subject”).

The journal's impact factor in 2012 was 0.899. In the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal was ranked 89th out of 247 journals in the applied mathematics category and 41st out of 78 journals in the Operations Research & Management Science category .
