Mathias F. Müller

Mathias F. Müller (* 1968 in Coburg , Germany ) is an Austrian art historian, publicist and art educator.

Life

Mathias F. Müller graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Steyr ( Upper Austria ) in 1986 . He then studied art history at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1997 on Emperor Maximilian I. His teachers were Hermann Fillitz , Artur Rosenauer and Konrad Oberhuber . Initially, Müller was a volunteer at the Albertina Vienna and, as part of a research grant from the University of Vienna, devoted himself to studying German original graphics from the 15th and 16th centuries, especially the miniature triumphal procession of Emperor Maximilian I. In 2000, he then moved to the town of Waidhofen an der Thaya and to the diocese of St. Pölten to deal with the collections as archivist and custodian. Since 2005 he has been an art teacher at the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture . Mathias F. Müller has published on the Upper German late Gothic and Renaissance periods, on Albrecht Altdorfer and Emperor Maximilian I. His curatorial activities cover a wide spectrum, from the early modern period to the present day.
