Mathias Hubert

Mathias Hubert (or Matthias Hubert , born August 16, 1892 in Nagyzsám , today Jamu Mare , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary ; † January 29, 1964 in Timișoara , People's Republic of Romania ) was an architect and educator.

Life

He was born on August 16, 1892, the son of Mathias Hubert and Theresia Haupt. He attended the state high school in Vršac from 1903 to 1911, in June 1911 he received the Abitur . During the First World War he reached the rank of ensign , later that of the lieutenant of the 7th Honved Regiment in Vršac. He was wounded several times.

Hubert studied architecture at the Budapest Josephakademie from 1915 to 1918. From 1919 to 1959 he was a professor at the higher technical and trade school in Timișoara. After 1945 he also taught at the vocational school for construction workers in Timișoara.

Politically, he was close to Michael Kausch's circle .
