Hotel Timisoara
The Hotel Timisoara is a six-storey Grade II listed building at Piata Victoriei the western Romanian city of Timisoara . It is located on Strada Mărăşeşti 1–3 in the immediate vicinity of the National Theater and Opera House .
history
The building was built according to the plans of the architects László Székely and Mathias Hubert between 1928 and 1929 in an eclectic style with elements of Baroque and Art Nouveau ( Vienna Secession ). A baroque round gable rises towards the Lloyd line. After completion, the building was the seat of the Schwäbische Bank , later the Pension Central was operated here. Between 1975 and 1978 a new building was added. The hotel thus has two facades. The entrance to the hotel is in the new building, on the back of the facade facing Piața Victoriei. The hotel's own guarded car park is also located here. After a renovation in 2007 and 2008, it is now a four-star listed hotel with 148 rooms and two modern elevators.
The Bega Group invested ten million euros in further renovation work on the facade, the consolidation of the entire building and the furnishing of 80 new rooms. Investments of nine million euros are also planned for a new building to replace the parking lot, a conference room for 2,000 people, retail units, a spa, a beauty and hairdressing salon and a two-story underground car park.
