reception

Nolte's first novel Großkotz , published in 1984, was met with very controversial criticism. Hartmut Schulze wrote in the Spiegel : "Mathias Nolte and his book deserve no attention and still get them." The critic Volker Hage, on the other hand, attested the author "a remarkable narrative security" and praised the "extremely entertaining novel".

In March 2007, Nolte's second novel, Roula Rouge , was published, which was positively assessed by the taz and also by Spiegel : “A gorgeous romance novel between Charlottenburg and Prenzlauer Berg, between standstill and departure.” The Münstersche Zeitung, on the other hand, described the plot as a “love story full of clichés "Read the parallel action, which is about the" drama of human failure after the opening of the iron curtain ", is more exciting.

With regard to the third novel Louise in a blue and white striped camisole , published in July 2009, Der Spiegel judged that with it Nolte had single-handedly revived the German entertainment novel as "a genre almost forgotten since the days of Vicky Baum".

Miss Bohemia appeared in January 2013 . "The most sensual, cleverest, most profound story of entertainment literature of the year," wrote Elmar Krekeler in the world .
