Mathilde von Bodenhausen

Mathilde von Bodenhausen (born May 28, 1870 in Göttingen , † January 24, 1946 in Munich ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Mathilde Freiin von Bodenhausen received her first painting lessons at the school of the Münchner Künstlerinnenverein with Angelo Jank , Max Feldbauer and Theodor Hummel . She then studied in Paris with the impressionist Henry Jean Guillaume Martin . After traveling to Italy, she settled in Munich in 1902 and became a member of the female artists' association. Von Bodenhausen exhibited several times in the Munich Glass Palace .

Von Bodenhausen mainly painted portraits, but also pieces of flowers and landscapes. She also made woodcuts, graphics and hand prints.
