Matija Kvasina (born December 4, 1981 in Nova Gradiška ) is a Croatian cyclist .
Career
Matija Kvasina won a stage of the Tour of Hungary in 2003 and then started with the Slovenian cycling team Perutnina Ptuj . In 2004 he became Croatian time trial champion . In the following year he won a stage of the Tour of Serbia and was able to win the overall ranking. In addition, this time he was road champion of his country. In the 2006 season he was able to celebrate only one day's success at the Tour of Cuba and later win the Croatian time trial championship for the second time.
In 2007 he won a stage of the Course de la Solidarité Olympique . In 2008 he won the overall ranking of the Tour of Serbia and competed in the Olympic road race in Beijing .
It was not until 2012 that he had his next important international victory in the Tour of Romania , where he clinched the overall victory. In addition, he won two stages of the Tour of Szeklerland in the same year . In 2014, Kvasina was the overall winner of the Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour . Between 2007 and 2017, Kvasina was national time trial champion seven times.
On July 4, 2017, he was expelled from the UCI and his Welser team for a doping offense based on a sample from the Flèche du Sud stage race in Luxembourg at the end of May .
