Matt "Bud" Kelly (born March 23, 1985 in Tottenham , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was under contract with the EC VSV from the EBEL until January 2016 .

Career

Matt Kelly began his career as a professional hockey player in 2002 with the Thornhill Rattlers in the OPJHL. In the same year he moved to the Belleville Bulls from the Ontario Hockey League , where he defended for four years. In the 2005/06 season he came to three missions with the Manitoba Moose from the American Hockey League . In the summer of 2006 he signed a contract with the Victoria Salmon Kings from the ECHL . Also in the 2007/08 season he came to some missions with the Manitoba Moose from the AHL.

In the summer of 2009 he moved to Europe and signed a contract in Italy with HC Pustertal , which was extended in the following two years.

In May 2012 Kelly signed with the Ravensburg Towerstars from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey , where he came up with the jersey number 44 .

In spring 2015 Kelly moved - together with Miha Verlič - from the EC Graz 99ers to the EC VSV . On January 26, 2016, he played his last game for Villach and returned to Canada after an early termination for family reasons.
