Matteo De Vettori (born February 16, 1993 in Rovereto ) is an Italian ski racer . He mainly starts in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines . In 2014 he was junior world champion in the super combined .
biography
Matteo De Vettori comes from Rovereto , in South Tyrol , and starts for the Fiamme Gialle ski club .
De Vettori celebrated his first successes in 2011 in national youth races. In slalom he won the silver medal at the National Youth Championships, a year later he followed suit with the age group title in the super combination and bronze in the downhill. In February 2011 he made his European Cup debut in Sarntal , and won his first points in January 2012 on the downhill run from Val-d'Isère . At his third Junior World Championship in Jasná in 2014, he won the gold medal in the super combined and bronze in the super G.
De Vettori made his World Cup debut on February 22, 2015 in the Super-G of Saalbach , where he finished 42nd. Towards the end of the season, he won his first Italian championship title in the combination in 2016 . On January 26, 2017, he stood for the first time on the podium of a European Cup race in Méribel .
