Matteo Fornasier

Matteo Fornasier (born December 10, 1977 in Turin ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1997 to 2003 he studied law at the University of Munich and at the London School of Economics and Political Science ; Funding according to the Bavarian Gifted Education Act and by the German National Academic Foundation . From 2003 to 2006 he was a research assistant in Munich with Claus-Wilhelm Canaris . From 2003 to 2005 he completed his legal clerkship at the Munich Higher Regional Court with a stay abroad in Hong Kong. From 2006 to 2007 he completed a master's degree at Yale Law School ; Funding by the German Academic Exchange Service . From 2008 to 2017 he was initially an assistant and later a scientific consultant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law with Jürgen Basedow ; Teaching positions at the Bucerius Law School and the University of Hamburg ; Visiting professorships at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and at the China-EU School of Law in Beijing. In 2010 he was admitted to the New York Attorney-at-Law. After completing his doctorate in 2011 at the University of Munich and habilitation in 2016 at the University of Hamburg; venia legendi for civil law, labor law, international private and procedural law and comparative law, he represented chairs at the universities of Heidelberg , Augsburg , Gießen and Greifswald from 2017 to 2019 . From 2019 to 2020 he taught as a university professor for civil law and labor law at the University of Greifswald . Since 2020 he has held a chair at the Ruhr University Bochum.

His main research interests are civil law, international private and procedural law, labor law, and comparative law.
