Matteo Serafini (born April 21, 1978 in Brescia ) is an Italian football player who is mostly used in attacking midfield.

Career

Serafini comes from the youth department of the US Cremonese , where he made the leap into the professional squad in 1996. After the club was relegated from Serie B and Serie C1 , he became a regular in Serie C2 during the 2000-2001 season . He spent the next season at AS Livorno , with whom he was promoted to Serie B. In 2003 he was transferred to the ASD Atletico Arezzo in the C1 series. In the 2003-2004 season Serafini was a regular player and scored 14 goals. He was then signed by AC Siena , which played in Serie A at the time, but was subsequently loaned to Catania Calcio in Serie B and FC Empoli in Serie A.

For the 2006–2007 season, Serafini moved to Brescia Calcio in Serie B. He caused a sensation with his performance in the game on March 10, 2007 against Juventus Turin , which in the summer of 2006 was denied the Italian championship title and ordered relegation to the second division had been. Serafini managed a spectacular hat-trick against reigning world champion Gianluigi Buffon in the goal of Juventus in his team's 3-1 victory , consisting of a lifter from a long distance, an overhead kick and a violent shot from 30 meters away.

In the following two seasons Serafini was active for Vicenza Calcio and Piacenza Calcio in Serie B. He has been playing for Aurora Pro Patria since 2009 , initially in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione and since 2010 in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione .
