Mattheus Rodde (politician, 1724)

Mattheus Rodde (* 1724 in Lübeck ; † August 2, 1783 ibid) was a German merchant and Lübeck councilor.

Life

Mattheus Rodde was the son of the mayor of Lübeck, Mattheus Rodde . In 1739 he became active in his father's trading business and toured Riga, Reval, Narwa and Saint Petersburg in the east on behalf of the company from 1748 to 1749 and Amsterdam, London, Lisbon and Bordeaux in the west of Lübeck from 1750 to 1751. Rodde continued his father's business after his death in 1761 with the councilor Joachim Peters . He was a senior man in the Lübeck merchant company . In 1770 he was elected to the council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck.

Mattheus Rodde was married to a daughter of the Lübeck mayor Heinrich Diedrich Balemann .
