Matthew Archibald (born May 20, 1986 in Hamilton ) is a retired New Zealand track cyclist .

Matthew Archibald has been cycling as a competitive sport since 2008. In 2012 he achieved his first international success when he finished third in the team sprint at the Track Cycling World Cup in Beijing together with Edward Dawkins and Simon van Velthooven . In 2014 he started at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and won gold in the team sprint and bronze in the 1000 meter time trial with Ethan Mitchell , Edward Dawkins and Sam Webster . By 2016 he won three titles at Oceanic Cycling Championships; In 2015 he became New Zealand champion in the 1000-meter time trial.

In addition to his role as an active rider, Archibald was the cycling coordinator for New Zealand's South Island . In 2016 he ended his active career.
