Matthew Gray
Matthew Gray (born June 24, 1973 in Yea ) is an Australian archer . He took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , 2000 in Sydney and 2008 in Beijing .
Career
Matthew Gray began archery at the age of seven. In 1988 he took part in the Junior World Championships and won bronze. Gray missed qualifying for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona by one place. At the 1994 World Archery Championships, Matthew Gray won the bronze medal. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , Gray finished fourth with the team, 26th in the individual. At the Olympic Games in his home country in Sydney in 2000 , he was only able to occupy the disappointing 36th place in the individual. With the team he was twelfth.
In 2010, Gray won the gold medal in the team competition with the recurve bow at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi .
