Matthew Thomas Lam ( Chinese  林 柱 機  - "Matthew Lam"; born September 10, 1989 in Edmonton ) is a Canadian football player.

Career

society

Originally born in Edmonton in the Canadian state of Alberta, he played in his youth in the Netherlands for Ajax Amsterdam and in England for Sheffield United . He took his first step in his professional career with the Croatian NK Croatia Sesvete in October 2009. The next year he returned to Canada and then played for FC Edmonton . Before joining the team for the North American Soccer League for the upcoming 2011 season , he left the club in January 2011 for Japan to play for JEF United Chiba .

On February 27, 2013, he then joined the Hong Kong second division club Kitchee SC , his first contract there was set for 18 months. On January 10, 2018, Lee Man FC, who played in the same league, took him over on loan until the end of the rest of the season. On May 25, 2019 it was announced that he would be leaving Kitchee SC after 6 years. On June 19, 2019, the coach of R&F announced that Lam will play for the club he has coached with immediate effect.

National team

In November 2008 he was used once in the Canadian U-20 national team .

His father is Hong Kongese and his mother is Canadian of Dutch descent. His brother Sam Lam is also a soccer player.
