Matthias Cammann

Matthias Cammann (born October 13, 1965 in Bremen ) is a German television sports journalist .

Career

As a journalist, Cammann began his work with an internship in the Olympic editorial team of the SDR in Los Angeles . While studying sports science (with a journalism course) in Hamburg, Cammann worked as a freelancer for NDR radio. After graduating as a qualified sports scientist, he began a traineeship at NDR . He then started working as a permanent freelancer in the sports department of NDR television. Short trips to New York and the SFB in Berlin followed. However, he remained loyal to the NDR to this day. Cammann moderated Sportclub aktuell and Sportclub live for several years , and was on the road as an author and commentator.

In the meantime, Cammann is the editor-in-chief of the NDR sports department and also comments on football games for the ARD sports show and NDR television. He is also an ARD tennis commentator at the Olympic Games. In addition to football and tennis, his professional heart also includes sports such as basketball , ice hockey , golf and athletics .

In 1999 Cammann and Konstantin Sauer were awarded the VDS television prize for the documentary As the East Beat the West . In 2012 Cammann was nominated for the Grimme Prize for the NDR documentary series Sportclub History .
