Matthias Diether

Matthias Diether (born December 2, 1974 in Berlin ) is a German chef .

Career

After completing his training, Diether moved to Lothar Eiermann in 1996 in the two-star restaurant Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe in Zweiflingen and in 1998 to Ristorante da Gianni in Berlin. In 2000 he went to Harald Wohlfahrt's Black Forest parlor in Baiersbronn and in 2001 to Dieter Müller in the Schlosshotel Lerbach in Bergisch Gladbach . In 2003 he moved to Sven Elverfeld at Aqua in Wolfsburg as a sous chef . He has held chef positions since 2005, first at La Baie at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dubai , then in Abu Dhabi and Scotland . In 2008 he went to the pottery house in Alt Duvenstedt .

Since 2010 he has been head chef on the First Floor in Berlin, where he was awarded a Michelin star . The restaurant was closed in December 2015. Diether has been working as a chef in the Baltic States since 2016.
