Matthias Krempl

Matthias Krempl (born October 21, 1917 in Eisenerz ; † November 21, 1997 in Leoben ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and industrial employee. He was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1962 to 1970 and a member of the Federal Council from 1970 to 1974 .

After elementary school in Eisenerz, Krempl attended secondary school in Goisern and worked as an agricultural assistant in Eibiswald between 1931 and 1933. He then graduated from the teachers' seminar of the Brothers of Christian Schools in Vienna between 1933 and 1934 and then from 1934 to 1937 attended the course for educators at the school brothers in Vienna. He was then from 1937 to 1938 prefect and young people leader in the private elementary and secondary school of the school brothers in Vienna-Landstrasse and in 1938 he became shift clerk at the Negrelli-Ast-Bayer company working group for housing developments in Eisenerz. He then worked from 1938 to 1945 as a payroll clerk for a master builder in Admont and in 1945 became secretary of the district management of the ÖVP Eisenerz. He then worked from 1945 to 1948 as an employee of the employment office in Eisenerz, and between 1948 and 1977 he was an employee of the Austrian-Alpine Montangesellschaft or VÖEST Alpine Eisenerz.

Krempl represented the ÖVP between December 14, 1962 and March 31, 1970 in the National Council and was a member of the Federal Council between May 14, 1970 and November 12, 1974. Furthermore, Krempl was from 1957 to 1962 a member of the Styrian Landtag and from 1966 to 1982 chief district party chairman of the ÖVP Leoben.
