Matthias Kussmann

Matthias Kußmann (* 1966 ) is a German literary scholar , author , editor and translator . His work and publication focus are the literature of the 20th century and contemporary literature .

Live and act

Matthias Kußmann works as a freelance author and editor; he also translated books for young people from English. In 2000 he was at the University of Karlsruhe with a thesis on Wolfgang Koeppen Dr. phil. PhD .

Kussmann writes reviews and features for radio, including Südwestrundfunk , Deutschlandfunk , Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk and Bayerischer Rundfunk and the press such as Allmende . In 1994 he wrote a history of the Literary Society (Scheffelbund) Karlsruhe .

As the editor, Matthias Kußmann is best known for his support for the works of Walter Helmut Fritz . In 2007, in collaboration with the author, he published the volume of poems Offene Augen , when Walter Helmut Fritz was unable to do so himself for health reasons. In 2009, a year before the death of Walter Helmut Fritz, Kußmann published a three-volume complete edition. Previously unpublished works (for example a play) as well as withheld texts and articles that are difficult to access have been published in it.

In other books edited by Matthias Kussmann, he tries to create a connection between visual art and poetry .

Matthias Kußmann lives in Karlsruhe .
