Matthias Mahlandt

Matthias Mahlandt (born May 5, 1809 in Hamburg ; † August 9, 1873 there ) was a German businessman .

Life

Mahlandt operated a trade in spices and colored goods as well as a salt depot in Hamburg. He served in the Hamburg citizen military . There he was captain of the 3rd Company of the 8th Battalion in 1838 . From 1839 to 1844 as well as 1849 and 1850 he was major of this battalion. Mahlandt also got involved in the St. Paulikirche , where he was adjunct from 1845 to 1851 and from 1852 to 1870 head. From 1855 to 1858 he was a tax resident.

He was a founding member and first President of the St. Pauli Citizens' Association founded in March 1843. He was later made an honorary member of this association.

Mahlandt belonged to the Hamburg Constituent Assembly and was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 1859 to 1865 .
