Matthias Pasdzierny

Matthias Pasdzierny (* 1976 in Göttingen ) is a German musicologist .

Life

Matthias Pasdzierny studied music education , musicology and German in Stuttgart , Berlin and Krakow and was in 2013 with a dissertation on returnees from exile and the West German musical life since 1945 PhD . He has been a research assistant at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2007 . His research focuses on the performance theory of the Second Viennese School , music and migration / exile / remigration , techno culture and music as part of the video game culture . From 2009 to 2014 he was part of the DFG project team Continuities and Breaks in Post-War Music at the UdK Berlin. Since 2016 he has been the head of the Bernd-Alois-Zimmermann- Gesamtausgabe at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. Pasdzierny is co-founder of the international research network Trayectorias - Cultural Exchanges: Music between Latin America and Europe .
