Matthias Rahn (born May 17, 1990 in Bad Langensalza ) is a German soccer player . The central defender was most recently under contract with MSV Duisburg .
Career
Matthias Rahn played in his Thuringian homeland for FSV Herbsleben and TSV Bad Tennstedt until he was eleven . Then he joined the FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt in 2001 . He played his way through all youth teams up to the A-Jugend-Bundesliga Nord / Nordost and was allowed to travel to the first team's training camp in his final year.
Following the youth, he was taken over into the league team. The central defender was a regular in the Erfurt Reserve for two years and in the 2011/12 season he was also in the squad of the professional team in the 3rd division . On the eleventh game day he came in the away game at SV Sandhausen for the first time as a substitute in the final minutes. Ten more third division games followed for him by the end of the season.
From 2012 to 2014 Rahn played at KSV Hessen Kassel , which he left for Sportfreunde Lotte before the 2014/15 season . With Lotte he was promoted to the 3rd division in 2016 and then relegated after three years.
After playing 146 competitive games in which he scored seven goals, the defender left the club in January 2020 and signed a contract with MSV Duisburg that was valid until the end of the 2019/20 third division season . There he was supposed to replace Sebastian Neumann , who had to end his career as a sports invalid . For the zebras , Rahn came to nine, mostly short, defensive and offensive appearances and was autumn champion with the team. At the end of the season they missed direct promotion and he no longer signed a new contract.
