Career
In the club
Sebastian Neumann started his career in 1995 at Eintracht Südring Berlin . He then moved to FC Internationale Berlin before moving to Hertha BSC in 2001 . There he was initially supposed to play in left midfield , but had to act in central defense due to an injury to a teammate , where he has been playing since then. In summer 2009 Neumann played his first league game for Hertha BSC's second team and at the end of the 2009/10 regional league season he had played 25 of 34 games. He also ran in the final of the DFB Junior Club Cup 2009/10 for the A-youth, which he lost with the team with a 1: 2 defeat against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim .
Neumann received a three-year contract for Hertha BSC's first team in the summer of 2010. There he made his debut in the first round of the DFB Cup and on the ninth matchday in the 2nd Bundesliga . In preparation for the 2012/13 season Neumann was sorted out by coach Jos Luhukay from the professional squad and transferred back to the second team.
After two missions for the Hertha reserve, Neumann decided to change clubs and signed a two-year contract with VfL Osnabrück on August 30, 2012 . In the 3rd division he won a regular place in the central defense of Osnabrück. In the summer of 2014, the second division club VfR Aalen signed him , but Neumann already suffered a tear in the meniscus in the preparation for the season and was out until the winter break. For the 2016/17 season Neumann moved to the second division promoted Würzburger Kickers . There he played as team captain for two years .
For the 2018/19 season Neumann moved to MSV Duisburg in the 2nd Bundesliga. For MSV he played eight times in the league until October 2018 and has since been injured; In his absence, the MSV was relegated to the 3rd league in spring 2019 , where Neumann was on the pitch for one minute on the 5th matchday. As a consequence of his hip injury, the defender ended his active career as a sports invalid in January 2020 .
National team
After appearances in the various youth teams of the DFB , coach Rainer Adrion nominated him for the first time for the game of the German U21s against Ukraine on October 11, 2010 in Unterhaching . There he was substituted on for Konstantin Rausch in the closing stages .
After the active career
In summer 2020 Neumann started an internship with his former employer, the Würzburger Kickers. There he is to be prepared for a later position in the youth training center.
