Matthias Sodtke

Matthias Sodtke (* 1962 in Hanover ) is a German cartoonist , graphic artist and children's book author .

Live and act

Matthias Sodtke studied visual communication and fine arts .

Since the 1990s he has devoted himself increasingly to writing and drawing children's books. He is the creator of the characters Nulli and Priesemut . In his 1994 children's book Are there actually Brummers that taste like carrots? they appeared for the first time. Since then, they have been the main characters in the picture book series of the same name: the rabbit Nulli and the frog Priesemut .

Sodtke also wrote the book for the children's play The motley magician . In 2001 the Zelttheater Comoedia Mundi eV, a German touring theater , performed this piece under the direction of Ulrike Möckel.

His stories have received several awards. They were filmed for the "Sendung mit der Maus" and performed as plays.

Some of his works have since been translated into Low German and Japanese .
