Matthias von Bornstädt (born February 24, 1986 in Wernigerode ) is a German children's book author and doctor .

Live and act

During his school days, Matthias von Bornstädt wrote short stories and poems with which he won various literary competitions on a city, national and European level.

After graduating from high school, von Bornstädt exchanged emails with the author Elfie Donnelly , the inventor of the radio play characters Benjamin Blümchen and Bibi Blocksberg . Donnelly arranged for von Bornstädt to do an internship at the Kiddinx studios in Berlin. After this internship, von Bornstädt began working as a freelance writer in 2007 for the kiddinx characters Benjamin Blümchen, Bibi Blocksberg and Bibi and Tina and later also for other established characters such as Wickie and the strong men and self-developed fabrics such as the edutainment series Nevio , the fearless researcher mouse at Arena Verlag or the adventure series Labyrinth of Secrets at Ravensburger , the setting of which is based on Bornstadt's hometown Wernigerode . His works include children's novels, radio plays, audio books and animated film scripts. Since 2017, von Bornstädt has published children's novels at ArsEdition , which are based on the cosmos of the Three Magician Games .

Matthias von Bornstädt organizes interactive reading shows for his books, with which he goes on tour nationwide.

At the same time he studied medicine at the Berlin Charité and received his doctorate in 2019 on the subject of "Classification and course of newly occurring epileptic seizures and epilepsies" The first edutainment title on medicine for children that von Bornstädt wrote as a doctor is the non-fiction book Look - My Body in Carlsen Publisher (2018).
