The Kiddinx Media GmbH ( own notation : KIDDINX ) is a German sales and marketing company for radio plays , music , cartoons and software for children. Founded as Kiosk Audio Video Cassetten GmbH (based on the label name KIOSK ), the name was changed to Kiddinx Entertainment GmbH in 2000 and the merger with KIDDINX Media GmbH in 2015. The best-known brands are the radio play series Bibi Blocksberg and Benjamin Blümchen .

Kiddinx Media GmbH is a subsidiary of Good Time Holding GmbH and a licensee of The Walt Disney Company for the production and marketing of Disney radio plays in German-speaking countries. With more than 150 million radio plays, DVDs, computer and console games sold, Kiddinx is the largest provider of entertainment media for children in Germany.

founding

After ITP Tonband Produktions KG was founded in 1969 , which specialized in duplicating audio cassettes , Hör + Lies Verlag GmbH (now Kiddinx Studios GmbH ) was founded in 1976 . With the simultaneous introduction of the Kiosk label , the foundation stone was laid for the company's own radio play production. The first radio play series is Benjamin Blümchen, which has been in production since 1977. In 1980 the radio play series Bibi Blocksberg started .

This was followed by the founding of the companies Christiane Gosda licensing agency GmbH (later: Kiddinx Merchandising GmbH) for the area of merchandise in 1986 and for the areas of sales and marketing the companies KIOSK Audio Video Kassetten GmbH (later: Kiddinx Entertainment GmbH ), Karl Blatz Spiele GmbH ( today: Schmidt Spiele GmbH ), Karl Blatz Filmproduktion GmbH (later: Kiddinx Filmproduction GmbH ) and in 2011 Kiddinx Media GmbH . Since 2015, KIDDINX Media GmbH has united the business areas of KIDDINX Entertainment GmbH, KIDDINX Merchandising GmbH and KIDDINX Media GmbH.

After the successful start of the two series, Hör + Lies Verlag GmbH secured the comprehensive rights of use to the characters Bibi Blocksberg and Benjamin Blümchen from the author Elfie Donnelly in 1988 . In addition to the production of radio plays, this was followed by further marketing as cartoon series, music albums, books, board and console games .

In addition to its own radio play series, Kiddinx also secured the exploitation rights to the sound carriers for the Wendy brand as well as the films and television series for the Walt Disney Company. Brands such as Kniffel , Mensch ärgere Dich nicht and Ligretto are also sold with the sister company of Schmidt Spiele GmbH .

Since 2000, all media activities have been carried out under the common brand name Kiddinx . In connection with this, the holding company Kiddinx Media AG was founded. In 2007, production, logistics and commercial administration were merged under the new name Good Time Holding GmbH . Since September 2010, Schmidt Spiele GmbH has been responsible for the distribution of the product range (radio plays, children's music, children's cartoons and children's software).

Since July 1, 2015, KIDDINX Media GmbH , which was previously primarily responsible for the digital business and licensing business, has also been responsible for the distribution of the entertainment product range (radio plays, children's music, children's cartoons and children's software). In the course of this takeover, KIDDINX Entertainment GmbH was merged with KIDDINX Media GmbH .
