The Maurice Dufrasne Stadium (also: Stade de Sclessin ) is a football stadium in Liege and the home stadium of the Standard Liege football club . The stadium, located in the Sclessin district of Liège, now offers around 30,000 seats (excluding seats), making it the second largest stadium in Belgium after the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels .
history
The stadium was built in 1909 and named after the club president at the time in 1925. In 1925 it had a capacity of around 20,000 spectators. It was the venue for the European Football Championships in 1972 and 2000 .
