Maurice Baquet
Maurice Baquet (born May 26, 1911 in Villefranche-sur-Saône , † July 8, 2005 in Noisy-le-Grand ) was a French actor, athlete and musician.
Maurice Baquet was an all-rounder. He was a talented musician and won first prize as a cellist at the Conservatoire de Paris . He was also a very good mountaineer, which he was able to use in many of his films. He came to the theater when he noticed the poet Jacques Prévert driving past him on a bicycle with a cello under his arm. He became a member of Prevet's famous theater group Oktobergruppe . He soon got into film and became a popular star in France with appearances in over 80 cinema and television productions. But Baquet didn't just limit himself to film work. He performed as a solo entertainer , in operettas, in music halls and even in London theaters .
