Maurizio de Giovanni

Maurizio de Giovanni Greuther dei Duchi di Santa Severina (born March 31, 1958 in Naples ) is an Italian writer.

Life

Maurizio de Giovanni attended the Istituto Pontano in Naples and studied ancient languages ​​and archeology at the University of Naples . He played water polo at Posillipo and as captain led the Volturno club up to Serie A2. He is a Tifoso from SSC Napoli . After the early death of his father, he worked as a bank clerk in Sicily and later at the Banco di Napoli . He is married and has two sons.

De Giovanni attended a writing workshop and won a competition for young authors in 2005. He has since written a large number of detective novels. He also writes sports books and comments on sports events on television.

The series Commissario Ricciardi , begun in 2006 with Le lacrime del pagliaccio , is set in Italian fascism in the 1930s . In 2012 he put on a second series with the Ispettore Lojacono with the detective novel Il metodo del coccodrillo , which takes place in the present of southern Italy, this first novel received the Premio Giorgio Scerbanenco in 2012 .
