Max Bisping

Max Bisping (born July 25, 1817 in Fröndenberg , † March 19, 1890 in Münster ) was a German composer and music teacher .

Bisping is known as the author of Bisping's Piano School (first edition 1860), one of the most authoritative piano schools of the 19th century. His pupil Alfred Rose worked on this school and dedicated it to his teacher; This New Piano School by Bisping-Rose in originally 5 volumes, now mostly published in 2 volumes, was first recorded by Hofmeister in 1900 and had over 30 editions up to the 1930s. Bisping was also a co-founder of the Protestant grammar school in Lippstadt (1845).
