Max Ernst Haefeli
Max Ernst Haefeli (born January 25, 1901 in Zurich ; † June 17, 1976 in Männedorf ) was a Swiss architect . He was one of the most important representatives of New Building in Switzerland.
Life
Haefeli studied architecture with Karl Moser at the ETH Zurich from 1919 to 1923 . He then gained his first practical experience in Otto Bartning's Berlin office and in his father Max Haefeli's architecture studio. In 1926 he opened his own architecture office and worked, among other things, as a furniture designer. From 1930 he also taught construction at the Zurich School of Applied Arts (today's Zurich University of the Arts ). From 1937 to 1975 Max Ernst Haefeli ran one of the most important Swiss architecture firms of the 20th century together with Werner Max Moser (the son of his former university professor) and Rudolf Steiger .
Haefeli was married to Ingeborg Margret Strüwind from 1929 until her death in 1972. In 1973 he entered into a second marriage with Eva-Maria Vogelsdorff.
