Road construction authorities, water authorities, municipal utilities, urban transport companies, states and municipalities as well as Deutsche Bahn .

history

In 1908, the company was founded as the building business Gebrüder Früh by the building craftsman Max Früh together with his brother Otto in Achern. Business activities came to a standstill as a result of the First World War . At that time the company employed around 20 people.

In the 1920s, the company increasingly relied on reinforced concrete . The founder Otto Früh left as a limited partner in 1938 . By 1939 the number of employees rose to 300. A newly opened office in Freiburg had to be closed again, but branches were opened in Mulhouse and Strasbourg .

From 1941 the company, whose employees were subordinate to the Wehrmacht , had to take over the fortification work on the Atlantic Wall .

In 1946 the company was given the legal form of a limited partnership (KG) . In the 1950s, bridge building became the main field of activity. The company has been operating a ready-mixed concrete plant since 1964 and takes over parts of the insolvent company Gollnow, from which Stahlbau Früh is formed.

In 1971 the company employed 360 people. In the 1970s, Stahlbau Früh became a loss maker and had to be wound up in 1983. The Früh company received the major order to expand the Rhine Valley Railway between Karlsruhe and Offenburg to four lanes and used the freeze tunnel process it had also developed, as well as the sleeper replacement carrier process . The company had a unique selling point in Europe when using this process, which enables the construction of traffic structures while the railways are in operation.

The managing director, Hans-Peter Früh, was also involved in the development of this process via the German patent DE 29721177U1 from February 12, 1998. Another patent application DE 102006043043A1 on the automated monitoring of rail routes during ongoing construction work was filed on September 9, 2006.

On November 12, 2012, the company filed for bankruptcy.
