Max Gentzen

Max Gentzen (born January 24, 1880 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † August 2, 1950 in Lübeck ) was a German doctor and member of parliament in Königsberg.

Life

Gentzen studied medicine at Albertus University , which made him a Dr. med. PhD. After four years at the University Polyclinic for Internal Medicine , he settled in Königsberg. In 1914 he came to the Western Front (First World War) as a troop doctor . As school doctor and chairman of the German Democratic Party , he represented the constituency of Königsberg-Stadt in the East Prussian provincial parliament from 1925 to 1929 . In 1932 he was elected to the Provincial Administration of East Prussia . He performed socio-medical tasks, especially in the field of tuberculosis control , health facilities and the pulmonary welfare office. In the battle of Königsberg he escaped to Lübeck . There he died at the age of 70.
