Max Heinz

Max Heinz (born November 19, 1894 in St. Gallen , † March 18, 1988 in Rüschlikon ) was a Swiss Christian Catholic clergyman and publicist .

Life

He was the son of Franz August Heinz and his wife Barbara Elisabeth geb. Shoemaker. After attending school in St. Gallen, he studied Christian Catholic theology in Bern from 1914 to 1919. He was ordained priest in 1919 by Bishop Eduard Herzog . From 1919 to 1924 he worked as a priest in Rheinfelden . From 1924 to 1933 Max Heinz was the main teacher at the Nidelbad-Rüschlikon Diakonie School of the Swiss Diakonie Association and at the same time pastor of the Christian Catholic Cooperative Baden-Brugg. From 1933 to 1963 he was pastor at the Christ Church in Oerlikon . In retirement he lived again in Nidelbad-Rüschlikon.

He married Elsa Maria Jäckle in 1921.

Act

Influenced by the religious-social movement , Max Heinz was committed to ecumenical understanding under the guiding principle of "Protestant catholicity". From 1947 to 1961 he was editor of the Christian Catholic Church Gazette .

Publications

Max Heinz wrote numerous articles on ecumenical and social topics. His 1928 devotional book Praise God received four editions.
