Max Oppel (journalist)

Max Oppel (born 1974 ) is a German TV and radio journalist. He is a newscaster for Sat.1 breakfast television , moderates the radio magazine “Kompressor” on Deutschlandfunk Kultur and occasionally the TV news program “Der Tag” on Deutsche Welle (DW) in Berlin .

Career

After studying literature and history at the Free University of Berlin with semesters abroad in London and Aix-en-Provence , Oppel became a trainee in the first year of the electronic media school (ems) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. He then worked at Inforadio vom rbb (from 2003) and at Dradio Wissen (now Deutschlandfunk Nova ) in Cologne (from 2010). Max Oppel took over the moderation of the DW-TV news program “Journal” (today “Der Tag”) in 2012, followed by Deutschlandfunk Kultur in 2014 and the news on Sat.1 breakfast television in summer 2018.

Max Oppel has been teaching at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences since 2018 . He is a Fellow of the RIAS Foundation . For several years he was part of the rate team for the SWR show “I have a big name”.

Max Oppel lives with his family in Berlin.
