Max Pfaller's pictures develop their own, autonomous imagery that is based on the visible world. The pictures are descriptions of our time, but at the same time timeless. They are interpretations and testimony to the conflict between man and nature. So lives z. B. the green, Lower Bavarian landscape in a supernatural form, the city tangle shows up, houses on cars are reflected in the composition, etc. Reflections are an important design element. The automobile, human encounters with the world of art, abandoned industrial plants and the precise representation of fashionable attributes also play a central role in Max Pfaller's pictures. Subtle changes are hidden in the apparent realism. Perspectives are shifted slightly and depth effects changed. An unreality turns into an over-reality: the asphalt of the streets, railroad tracks in the abandoned train station, walls with traces of earlier lettering, etc. a.

Max Pfaller works with different techniques: Acrylic resin paint and watercolor on different surfaces: wood, canvas, hardboard, cardboard, paper. In addition, he also deals with drawing and lithography.
