Max René Francillon

Max René Francillon (born March 1, 1899 in Lausanne , † December 13, 1983 in Zurich ) was a Swiss orthopedist and university professor .

Life

Max René Francillon attended high schools in Lausanne and Bad Kreuznach . 1919–1924 he studied medicine and anthropology at the University of Zurich and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1924 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. Since 1928 secondary doctor at the Balgrist Institution, he qualified as a professor in 1937 for orthopedics . From 1938 he ran a doctor's practice in Zurich for 12 years. In 1950 he was appointed associate professor as director of the (orthopedic) university clinic Balgrist . In 1967 he came to the chair. The main research areas were the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, congenital hip dislocation , gait analysis and coxarthrosis . His students occupied four of the five Swiss chairs for orthopedics.
