Max Simon (politician, 1919)

Max Simon (born September 9, 1919 in Marbach; † April 7, 2009 ) was a German party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . From 1958 to 1963 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Simon, son of a worker, was born in Marbach in the Chemnitz district. He attended elementary and vocational school in Rötha . From 1934 to 1936 and from 1940 to 1941 he worked as an administrative clerk. Simon joined the NSDAP in 1941 . During the Second World War he did military service and was a Soviet prisoner of war as an officer .

After his return to the Soviet occupation zone in 1949 , he worked as an accountant. He became a member of the FDGB in 1949 and from 1949 to 1951 took part in a course for accountants in the state-owned economy at the Adult Education Center in Leipzig. On September 1, 1950, Simon became a member of the NDP (later renamed NDPD) and in 1951 attended the state party school of the NDP. From 1952 to 1954 he worked as a chief accountant in the Leipzig branch of the German Commercial Center (DHZ) household chemistry. From 1953 to 1954 he was a city councilor and member of the City Council of Leipzig and from 1954 to 1958 a member of the Leipzig District Assembly . From 1954 he worked as director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Leipzig district.

He represented the NDPD as a member of parliament from 1958 to 1963 in the third electoral term of the People's Chamber . He was a member of the Economic Committee. On July 31, 1963, his resignation was announced. From 1958 he was a member of the district board of the NDPD in the Leipzig district.
