Max Stern (* 1939 or 1940 ) is a professional Costa Rican poker player , doctor and author . He is three-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Poker career

Career

Stern has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 1987 .

In May 1989 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas and reached the money ranks in a tournament of the Seven Card Razz variant . In 1995 he won a WSOP event in Omaha 8 or Better for a $ 140,400 prize and a bracelet . Three years later he secured two more bracelets and prize money of more than $ 350,000 with victories in the Limit 7 Card Stud Hi / Lo and No Limit Hold'em variants .

In total, Stern has earned just under $ 1.5 million in poker in live tournaments.
