Max Weiss (sculptor)
Max Weiss (born December 16, 1921 in Emmenbrücke , † July 30, 1996 in Tremona ) was a Swiss sculptor .
Life
Max Weiss attended the Lucerne School of Applied Arts from 1935 to 1939 . His teachers were Huttiger and Max von Moos . In 1945 he married the journalist Emilia Iten ( Mix Weiss ), whom he had met at the arts and crafts school, and moved to Cassina d'Agno , and in 1947 to Tremona in Mendrisiotto . The couple had three children (born in 1945, 1947 and 1951).
He got to know Tremona through his painter friend Rolf Meyer , where he met sculptors like Lynn Chadwick , Olivier Strebelle , Kenneth Armitage and Xavier Corbero .
