Maria Maximilian von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (born March 28, 1908 in Munich , † May 20, 1937 in Vienna ) was a German automobile racing driver .

He was the firstborn son of Maria Joseph, Count von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (1881-1924) and Wilhelmine Gabriela Maria, Princess von Auersperg (1884-1919), grandson of Ludwig von Arco-Zinneberg and great-grandson of Maximilian von Arco-Zinneberg .

Racing career

Count Maximilian Arco-Zinneberg started out as a private driver in a Mercedes-Benz in the 1920s and 1930s . In the years between 1929 and 1931 he achieved considerable success.

Together with August Momberger, on July 14, 1929 , he won the Grand Prix of Nations for sports cars at the Nürburgring in a Mercedes-Benz SSK in the sports car class with a displacement of more than 3 liters and came third overall in this race. On September 6, 1929, Arco-Zinneberg also won the first international Gaisberg race . He drove the 11.84 km long route in a Mercedes-Benz SSK at an average speed of 80 km / h.

Max von Arco-Zinneberg was active in the international Grand Prix sport in 1930 and 1931 . He competed in the 1930 Monaco Grand Prix in a Mercedes-Benz SSK , but was eliminated on the first lap due to an accident. He registered a Bugatti T35B for the Masaryk Grand Prix in Brno in 1931 , but did not compete.

In May 1937, Max von Arco-Zinneberg had a fatal accident while flying over the Aspern Airport in Vienna.
