Ludwig von Arco-Zinneberg
Ludwig von Arco-Zinneberg (born January 3, 1840 in Munich ; † November 20, 1882 there ) was a Catholic Bavarian club functionary and politician.
Arco-Zinneberg came from the old aristocratic family of Arco . He was a grandson of the widowed Electress of Bavaria, Maria Leopoldine von Österreich-Este , and one of the leading figures of the Catholic-conservative association life in Bavaria in the second half of the 19th century.
In 1867 he became chairman of the Munich St. Vincentius Central Association, which was dedicated to poor relief, in 1869 he became the founding chairman of the " Bavarian Patriotic Farmers Association Tuntenhausen ", which grew rapidly under his leadership. In 1870 his father bought Maxlrain Castle for him .
Together with his cousin Karl zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg , he organized the German Catholic Days and, as chairman of the Catholic Casino in Munich, created "an intellectual center of educated Catholics active in public life" (E. von Aretin), especially in close contact with the leading people from the Bavarian Patriot Party .
Arco-Zinneberg, who always had to struggle with health problems, died in Munich at the age of 42.
