Before the Second World War, the Counts of Hohenthal acquired the castle and estate as well as the brewery and malt house. Today it is owned by Christina Princess Lobkowicz, b. Countess von Hohenthal und Bergen, who is married to Erich Prinz von Lobkowicz .

Events

  • Annual classic car meeting "ADAC Bavaria Historic", a weekend at the end of May / beginning of June
  • Since 2006: Annual “Medieval Fantasy Spectaculum”, better known as the Maxlrainer Ritterspiele
  • Since 1988: Opernbühne e. V. Bad Aibling / Maxlrain: Every year in July, the opera stage puts on a production. What is special is the cast: the choir consists exclusively of members from the region who enjoy singing. The orchestra members are partly amateur, partly professional musicians. The main voices are occupied by singers who are still at the beginning of their careers. For some, appearing on the opera stage was a stepping stone to well-known stages. The entire organizational team, i.e. stage design and construction, props and costumes, ticket sales, design of the program, social media and catering are volunteer members of the opera stage. In 2018, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "La clemenza die Tito" will be on the program.
