Max von Fioresi-Weinfeld

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Max von Fioresi-Weinfeld , even Fioresi Edler von Weinfeld , actually Fiore ski (* 10. October 1892 in Bolzano ; † 12. September 1951 ) was a South Tyrolean notary and was due to his political beliefs of the Nazis to concentration camps deported.

Life

He came from the Austrian family Fioreschi from Neumarkt , who in 1781 had been raised to the hereditary-Austrian nobility with the name "Edler von Weinfeld" and in Italy in 1926 as "Fioreschi di Weinfeld" received their nobility recognition.

After graduating from the Bolzano Franciscan High School , where he joined the school association "Gaudeamus igitur Bozen" , Fioresi studied law and joined the Catholic student associations K.Ö.HV Carolina Graz and AV Austria Innsbruck (now in the ÖCV ) before returning to South Tyrol to work as a notary in Bolzano. During the suppression of the German-speaking population in fascist Italy , he had to resign from the Cartell Association like the other association members .

Since he opposed the option and was a prominent "Dableiber", he was considered politically unreliable. After the invasion of the Wehrmacht in autumn 1943, he and other opponents of the resettlement policy were arrested, transferred to Landshut in March 1944 and imprisoned in Dachau concentration camp from August 1944 , where he remained until the end of the war in 1945.
