Maxim Akimov

Maxim Alexejewitsch Akimow ( Russian Максим Алексеевич Акимов ; born March 1, 1970 in Malojaroslavz , Kaluga Oblast , Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician . He has been Vice Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation since May 2018 .

Life

Akimov served in the Soviet armed forces and worked from 1991 to 1992 as a teacher of history, geography and English at a middle school in Maloyaroslavets. In 1993 he worked as a leading specialist in the legal department of a real estate fund in Kaluga Oblast. In 1994 he graduated from the history faculty of the Kaluga State Pedagogical University " KE Ziolkowski ". From 1994 to 1996 he headed the company "Fineart-Audit" and from 1996 to 1997 the regional commission for the securities market of the Kaluga Oblast. From 1997 to 2001 he was Deputy Director of the Economy and Industry Division of the Regional Government of Kaluga Oblast. From 2001 to 2004 he was the first deputy chairman of the Kaluga Oblast State Property Committee. In 2004 he headed the Kaluga Oblast Ministry of Economic Development. From May 2004 he was appointed the first deputy mayor of the city of Kaluga , temporarily fulfilled his duties from August to November of the same year and was elected mayor of the city on November 14 with 34.6% of the votes cast. In June 2007 Akimov moved to the regional administration and was deputy until 2011 and then first deputy to the governor of Kaluga Oblast until 2012. As head of the regional ministry for economic development and finance, he was responsible for the implementation of the economic, financial and investment policy of the region.

In 2012 Akimov moved to the government apparatus of the Russian Federation. From May 21, 2012 to May 23, 2013 he was Deputy Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov and then first deputy head of the government apparatus Sergei Prichodko . Akimow was responsible for questions of the implementation of the state economic and financial policy as well as the development of industry, energy, transport and telecommunications. He was responsible for the administration of federal property and the support of priority projects and programs for the strategic development of the Russian Federation. On May 18, 2018, Akimov was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation in the Medvedev cabinet . In addition to managing the national “ Information Management ” program and the national project for the implementation of safe and high-quality traffic routes, his tasks include the areas of traffic, communication and innovations. He remains responsible for real estate and intellectual property related issues.

Since June 30, 2016 he has been a member of the Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects at the President of the Russian Federation. He is a member of the supervisory board of the stock corporation "Special Economic Zone Innopolis ". From 2007 he was President of the Badminton Federation of Kaluga Oblast. Akimov has been an Active State Advisor to the Russian Federation, 1st class since 2016. He is married and has two sons.
