Konstantin Welikow comes from Kristall Saratow's junior division . He began his professional career at HK CSKA Moscow , for whose professional team he was active in the super league from 2000 to 2002 . The defender then moved to Chimik Voskressensk from the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division , after he had started the 2002/03 season at CSKA . From 2003 to 2004 he played for the second division Kristall Saratow in his hometown, before he was signed by their league rivals HK MWD Tver during the 2004/05 season . With the HK MWD he immediately succeeded in winning the second division championship and thus advancing to the super league. Even after the team moved to Balaschicha in 2007, he stayed with the club.
From 2008 to 2010 Velikow took part in the game operations of the newly founded Continental Hockey League for HK MWD Balaschicha and failed with his team in the 2009/10 season only in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup at Ak Bars Kazan . Then the HK MWD was merged with the HK Dynamo Moscow and the Russian received a contract with their successor team OHK Dynamo for the 2010/11 season . He won the Gagarin Cup with the OHK in 2012 after having only made 17 appearances due to injuries in the 2011/12 season. During the following season he completed only 4 missions in the KHL and 5 games in the Wysschaja Hockey League at HK Dynamo Balaschicha before his contract with Dynamo expired in April 2013. He was then committed by Atlant Mytishchi .
At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he was first used by Atlant for the farm team Disel Pensa in the Wysschaja Hockey League . At the end of November 2014 he left the club and was signed by Amur Khabarovsk .
