Maxime Belleville (born February 23, 1981 in Chamonix ; † February 23, 2011 ibid) was a French ski jumper .

Career

Belleville made his international debut in the 1996/97 season as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . In his first season he was only 127th overall with 18 points. The 1997/98 season went better for him in which, after some top results, he finished 22nd overall with 423 points. Then he got a starting place in the A-squad in the summer and started at the Ski Jumping Grand Prix 1998 . After he was able to jump into the points there, Belleville finished 41st in the overall standings, tied with Jakub Janda , Wolfgang Loitzl and Andreas Widhölzl .

In the following two years, Belleville remained in the Continental Cup despite the good performance of the 1997/98 season. However, he did not get any top placements, so that he ended his active ski jumping career after the 1999/2000 season.

After the end of his career, Belleville worked as a mountain and ski tour guide around his home town. He died on his 30th birthday on a mountain hike when he fell into a crevasse .
