Maximilian Karner (born January 3, 1990 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
Karner began his career at PSV Salzburg before moving to the youth department of Austria Salzburg in 2002 . After taking over Red Bull, at the age of only 15, he was immediately appointed to the 2nd team in Salzburg, the Juniors. He was immediately considered a great Salzburg football talent and also played in the youth national teams of Austria .
In the summer of 2007 he suffered an inflammation of the heart muscle and after a tough recovery phase, during which he was hardly allowed to strain his heart, he returned to training with the Juniors in the autumn of 2008 . In the spring, however, the next setback occurred, Karner broke his metatarsal bone and was out for another 2 months.
For the 2009/10 season he reported fit again and quickly fought for a regular place under coach Niko Kovač . Due to the forced relegation of the Juniors to the Regionalliga West and strong performances in the First League , he left Red Bull Salzburg and moved to SV Ried in the Innviertel , but was immediately loaned to SV Grödig .
Then he returned to the Riedern , before he was signed in the summer of 2013 by his former club SV Grödig .
