Maximilian Kugelmann

Maximilian Kugelmann SAC (born April 18, 1857 in Bobingen , Bavaria ; † February 12, 1935 in Limburg an der Lahn ) was a German priest and between 1903 and 1909 General Rector of the Pallottines .

Kugelmann devoted himself to the spiritual accompaniment of Italian emigrants in London and New York in the first years after his ordination . He then became head of the novitiate in Massio, Italy. In 1892 he founded the first branch in Limburg. Two years later he became vicar of the German province. In 1903 he became rector general. During his tenure the first Pallottines were sent to Poland and Ireland. In 1904 the Constitution, the prayer book and the ceremonial of the Pallottines were printed. In 1909 his term of office as general rector ended and he was again head of the novitiate in Massio. In 1915 he returned to Germany, where he helped set up the Pallottines in Germany. He died in Limburg at the age of 77.
