William Whitmee
William Whitmee (born December 16, 1851 in Norfolk , † March 27, 1909 in Rome ) was an English priest and between 1896 and 1903 Rector General of the Pallottines .
Father William joined the Pallottines at Ipswich in 1875 and was ordained a priest in Rome three years later . First he was employed in London for two years and then returned to Rome to take on the duties of an economist and deputy director of the General House. From 1884 he worked for 25 years in the administration of the order. As a consultant, procurator and rector general, he helped set up Pallottine institutions in Brazil , Argentina and Ireland . Above all, he was concerned with the spiritual development of the religious.
Whitmee died in 1909 and rests in the Campo Verano Roman cemetery .
